K-9 Karnival at Red Wing Park

Come out to Red Wing Park this Saturday, May 14, 2011 from 10am to 3pm for the K-9 Karnival. This is a public event that will be hosting doggie related businesses, various competitions, shelter organizations, food, and rabies shot clinic. While you are the K-9 Karnival you can also sign your dog up for a year’s membership at Red Wing Park and/or Woodstock Park.

Activities that are being held include:
Disc-Catching event that is open to all owners and their dogs (regardless of breed, size or experience). Your shelter pup might just be the one to take it all.
Rescue Organizations will be on hand to offer education and activities for the dogs as well as many having some of their dogs there who are up for adoption.
Dog related businesses will be showing off their goods and food vendors will be available as well.
An Agility Course Competition at 11:30am allows kids 5-12 to compete with their best friends as they jump through hoops and go through tunnels. Registration for this event takes place 10-11am.
The 20th Annual Dog-Gonest Dog Show will have categories ranging from Best Tail Wagging to “Stupid Pet Tricks”. Participation is free and there will be prizes.
A rabies shot clinic will be offered by the Virginia Beach SPCA and will also be at a reduced cost of only $10.
Beagles to the Rescue will also be offering free microchip insertion to the first 100 dogs between 11am and 12pm.
There is a ton of fun waiting for your whole family and your family’s best friend. Come out and enjoy all that the K-9 Karnival has to offer.
